New Patio

ES Engineering was retained by Pampa Restaurant to design a natural gas piping plan for their new patio. An existing baseboard heater was replaced to accommodate a new door (North). New patio heaters were installed each complete with their own shut-off valve and quick connect hose.

New HVAC System

This new Brazilian Churrascaria is located on the main floor the 9925 Building near Jasper Avenue. The original design of the tower had most of the air supplied to the restaurant area directly run off from the building mechanical system. Use of this system during off-peak hours such as evenings and weekends proved extremely inefficient as the entire mechanical system for the tower was required to operate but only ended up serving the restaurant area. ES Engineering was required to create a new, complete and efficient mechanical design for Pampa Brazilian steakhouse, operating independently from the main building’s mechanical system.

A significant challenge of design was the limited space available for equipment, this required innovative use of existing areas to place large pieces of air handling equipment. Ductwork was required to be routed carefully and efficiently to maximize the use of the space available to serve the restaurant.

The air system developed for this Churrascaria required the consideration of a large indoor charcoal barbecue. Typically not found in conventional restaurants, the use of charcoal presents unique air requirements. An air system was needed to safely filter and exhaust the charcoal barbecue. In addition to these requirements, the mechanical system was still required to be efficient.

Complimenting the completely reworked air system, this new restaurant required many new pieces of plumbing and kitchen equipment, each requiring water, sanitary and/or natural gas connections.
