New Air Conditioning Unit

This project was to install a new air conditioning unit to the main floor equipment room for N+1 redundancy. Work included installation of the new unit, a new roof mounted air cooled condenser, Econophase unit, refrigerant piping, ductwork distribution complete with air outlets, mechanical insulation, controls and electrical wiring. Existing supply air outlets were relocated and or added to provide supply air to “cold aisles”.

Cooling Units Replacement

ES Engineering was retained by TELUS as prime consultant to replace the old, inefficient cooling units with rooftop units. A large challenge was that a certain amount of cooling was to be maintained in the building during the project. This requirement demanded simultaneous removal and installation of equipment to minimize disturbing the cooling load as much as possible. As well, just like any project, precise coordination and communication was vital between all active parties.
