Vent - Ventilation has been provided to meet current code requirements to the main bay area and the two bays drive thru adjacent with heating only and incorporate heat recovery from the exhaust air stream to help heat the incoming outside air. An industrial style air curtains has been provided at all vehicular entrances and exits to the building to ensure that the conditioned air remains inside the building whilst keeping the outside air outside. The office areas have been provided with a separate HVAC system with heat recovery to help minimize operating costs.
Heating - A snow melt system has been provided on all vehicular entrance and exit pads to ensure that there is no build up of ice during the winter months. Unit heaters have been provided within the wash bay area to provide temperature control. Geothermal ground source energy to assist with the heating system.
Domestic Hot Water - Gas fired water heaters have been provided to serve the wash bay equipment. Solar panels have been installed to provide hot water during the summer months and minimal preheat during the winter months.
Storm water management - Design has been undertaken to meet the City of St Albert requirements with the results being passed to the landscape designer to incorporate gradings into their design.
Drainage - The drainage system from the wash bays have been incorporated an oil water separator to ensure compliance with the City requirements.
