Marsh Lake Community Hall

institutional

A mechanical design for a community center located in Marsh Lake, Yukon was required. Not having civil services in the area such as sewage and water, this project presented itself as a unique challenge.

Pumps were installed to supply the community center with water from a local well while sanitary services were to be handled by a local septic system which required special care during design and installation.

Utilizing heat recovery ventilation units, this technology allowed for high efficiencies in operating the building air handling system thus dramatically reducing utility costs. Heating is achieved with a hydronic system serving radiant and cabinet units heaters located throughout the building.

Despite the remote location of this community hall, this building has a modern design with high efficiency equipment.
