Telus Jasper Place

commercial

ES Engineering was responsible for the design of a new heating system for the west side of Jasper Place. The installation of two high efficiency boilers helps to reduce utility costs, consuming less fuel than the old, inefficient boiler as well as having a much smaller footprint. However, the existing chimney was not compatible with the newer high efficiency boilers. ES Engineering was required to route the exhaust in such a way as to work around the existing chimney while keeping structural modifications to an absolute minimum. With creative thinking, the need for costly structural supports was eliminated, while still meeting all safety requirements.

Main Floor Equipment Room HVAC Upgrade

This project was to install a new air conditioning unit to the main floor equipment room for N+1 redundancy. Work includes installation of the new unit, a new roof mounted air cooled condenser, Econo phase unit, refrigerant piping, ductwork distribution complete with air outlets, mechanical insulation, controls and electrical wiring.

Main Floor Equipment Room HVAC Review

Es Engineering was retained by TELUS to review and evaluate present HVAC systems and equipment, the growth of heating and cooling demand, existing mechanical control systems and alarms, and N+1 Redundancy issues and to provide options for upgrading the mechanical systems in TELUS Jasper Place building. Recommendations were made to replace the existing DX units that were well past their expected service life with new chilled water units. Additional chiller capacity were also recommended to handle the entire building’s cooling demand, projected future cooling loads and provide N+1 chiller redundancy.

Replacement of Existing Pipe Joints

ES Engineering was assigned to invertigate and design the replacement of the existing pipe joints and insulations by using the Victaulic joints piping system.
